Bill S Shrapnel
Bill Shrapnel is one of Australia’s most experienced dietitians. He has held positions of Dietitian-in-Charge at two New South Wales health services and was previously the National Nutrition Manager with the Heart Foundation. For the last 19 years Bill has run a nutrition consultancy working with food companies, industry associations, non-government organisations and government. His major interests are how macronutrients affect risk for coronary heart disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity. Recently, Bill developed a new model for assessing the nutritional quality of carbohydrate-rich foods. He is the author of several peer-reviewed papers and has published a best-selling book on the dietary management of cholesterol. Bill currently holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Sydney University Nutrition Research Foundation.
