Chad Foulkes
Chad Foulkes heads up Healthy Together Geelong which is part of the State Governement of Victoria's world leading systems approach to obesity prevention. Healthy Together Geelong represents the largest investment in prevention of chronic disease in any Australian Council. Chad oversees a team of 16 staff working across settings, environments, individuals, social marketing, policy and systems change to halt and reverse the rising trend of obesity is Victoria's second largest city Geelong. He recently puslihed a systematic review on incidental physical activity and is pursuing a PhD investigating systems approaches to obesity prevention. Chad previously worked at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention as a Research Fellow and with the CO-OPS Collaboration of community based obesity prevention initiatives at Deakin University. Whilst at Deakin Chad coordinated a technical consultation on approaches to prevent childhood obesity for the WHO Western Pacific Region Head Office. Prior to this he led the Community Planning and Development Unit at Victoria’s Surf Coast Shire, established an international school in Kalimantan Indonesia with his wife and worked at the Australian Institue for Family Studies on Youth Suicide Prevention and Child Abuse Prevention initiatives.
